Could God be calling you to the ministry of camps and retreat centers?

The Focus Event will give you the opportunity to learn more about this ministry, to meet folks in the field, and to spend time exploring God's call for your life. This program is designed for people of all ages - whether you are a person planning a dream job in outdoor ministry as a second career, a summer camp staffer who is interested in the field, a church professional who is considering a change in ministry, or anyone in between. This program is endorsed by the Presbyterian Church Camp and Conference Association, the Outdoor Ministries Association of the United Church of Christ, and United Methodist Camp and Retreat Ministries, but is open to participants from all denominations.

The weekend includes workshops, worship, a question-and-answer session, information regarding current job openings, a tour of Cedar Crest Camp, and a panel discussion with current year-round staff. For just $65.00, participants will receive two nights in double-occupancy lodging, four meals, and airport shuttles on Friday evening and Sunday morning. For more information on the program, please contact Joel Winchip at joel@pccca.net or 803.322.0232.

Host Site and Transportation

Cedar Crest Camp is located in Middle Tennessee, 45 minutes from Nashville, near the heart of the Mid South. Encompassing over 500 acres, Cedar Crest has built on its past in rustic camping with current foci on discipleship and hospitality in summer camp and year-round retreat, environmental education, and adventure programming. Owned and operated by the United Methodist Church, Cedar Crest is a part of the Tennessee Western Kentucky Annual Conference. Our team is passionate about creating a culture of call and discernment, and is excited to continue those conversations at the Focus Event.

The Focus Event will begin Friday evening with some getting acquainted activities at 8:00pm (dinner is on your own). The nearest airport is Nashville International Airport (BNA), which is about an hour away from Cedar Crest. We will provide a shuttle from the airport by 6:00pm, so please plan to arrive by 5:30pm on Friday. If you are driving, you may arrive at Cedar Crest any time after 5:00pm on Friday. The program will end with breakfast and morning worship on Sunday. The shuttle back to the airport will leave around 10:00am that day. Please schedule flights no earlier than 12:15pm. For more information on our host site or transportation, please contact Joel Winchip at joel@pccca.net or 803.322.0232.
