Program Connection is the annual gathering of program-minded people from camps and conference centers across the continent. The 2019 event will be held at Johnsonburg Camp and Retreat Center (Johnsonburg, NJ). We invite all Program Directors, Summer Camp Directors, Program Staff and anyone who has an interest in programming in the Christian camp and conference context to attend. Come share the great ideas your site has successfully implemented, as well as learn from other camps and conference centers. The schedule will include time for sharing, discussion, hands-on activities, workshops, and plenty of fellowship time! Discussion topics are decided by participants at the start of the event, so sessions are aimed at what you need to learn or what you want to share. Come prepared to learn, to share, and to have fun!

Program is the most important facet of outdoor ministry. From determining the need for a program to evaluating the final product, today’s camp and retreat leaders need to be knowledgeable in how programs are designed and implemented. This course will focus on an overview of human growth and development in relation to outdoor ministry, and will look at program models and how they serve as an extension of a ministry’s mission statement. Participants will also study how our summer programs can be part of a year-round ministry. The course will be held at Columbia Theological Seminary (Decatur, GA) and will be taught by seminary faculty, Dr. Kathy Dawson and Joel Winchip. You can learn more about this program (and register) by going to www.compasspointsprogram.org
