Networks Adds New Members to Team
The
PCCCA Consultants Network is pleased to announce the addition of two new
members to their team. Rich Swartwood of Pyoca (Brownstown, IN) and Cheryl
Hartman of Meadowkirk (Middleburg, VA) will now join the other six members
of this group. These two individuals are no strangers to the PCCCA
community as they have been active in the organization for many years and
in a variety of capacities.
Cheryl
Hartman is the Associate General Presbyter for National Capital
Presbytery (in Virginia), where she has served as the person in charge of
the Outdoor ministries for over 10 years. While in this position, she has
led the presbytery through the process of determining an old site would no
longer suit the needs of the churches and that a new site was needed. The
change from a rustic Glenkirk to a modern Meadowkirk has been a $29
million move that included finding the right land, deciding which
buildings were needed and working with engineers, architects and county
officials to make it a reality. Cheryl formerly served as the Program
Director for Calvin Center (Hampton, GA) and is a Certified Christian
Educator.
Rich
Swartwood is the Executive Director for Pyoca Camp, Conference &
Retreat Center (Brownstown, IN), where he has served 14 years. He has
assisted the ministry of Pyoca expand into a year-round operation, with
facility and staffing additions which serve 650 youth and 2,500 retreat
guests. Additionally, Rich has assisted in expanding the fund development
work to include an annual fund, scholarship development and presently
working on a two-million dollar capital campaign. He has received a
certificate in Fund Raising Management through the Center on Philanthropy
at Indiana University. Rich is an active Elder and serves on several
presbytery committees, the PCCCA board, and as chair of the PCCCA
Investment Committee.
If your site is in need of the consulting
services provided by the Network, please contact one of the
co-coordinators: John Hicks at 208.429.69337 and jghicks@gmail.com
or Paul Fogg at 770.946.4276 and paulfogg@calvincenter.org.
They have a unique understanding of the camps and conference centers in
our denomination (probably because they have visited almost all of them!),
so please contact them when your site is considering changes in its
ministry.
