Your Input is Needed. Should We Have a Virtual Conference in November? - The PCCCA Board voted that our Annual Conference this fall will not be a face-to-face event. We truly appreciate the work of our host, Menucha Retreat and Conference Center, and we are sorry that we are unable to visit their beautiful site in November. The planning team is now seeking your input as we consider the alternatives. Should we offer a virtual conference? There are lots of ways that workshops, keynotes, worship, fellowship time, the exhibit hall, the auction, etc. can be shared. We want to make sure that the event meets the needs of our members, so please indicate your preferences in the questionnaire. If you are not interested in attending a virtual Annual Conference, we need to know that as well. We ask that you give us just three minutes of your time and complete the questionnaire before 11:00 am EDT on Friday, July 17. Thanks!
A Zoom Gathering for our Camp and Conference Leaders is Held Every Thursday - We gather every Thursday at 11:00am EDT for a Zoom call with our camp and conference leaders. The conversation will focus on the latest news, as well as mutual support. The call is a partnership between PCCCA and the Office of Christian Formation of the Presbyterian Mission Agency. We hope you will be a part of the conversation each week. You can join us online at https://zoom.us/j/805279344 or by phone (one-tap mobile) at +16468769923,,805279344# US. Please click on the title or image of this post if you are unable to click on the Zoom link. The recordings of previous Zoom calls can be found at the bottom of PCCCA’s Coronavirus page. Agenda for our one-hour call on 7/9 at 11am EDTThe topic for our Thursday call will be who is around your campfire? The conversation will not just focus on donor retention, but on people like volunteer chaplains, medical staff, governing body staff, pastors, summer staff from the past (or who were hired for this year and couldn’t come), the graduating class of this summer’s campers, loyal guest groups, schools, other volunteers, etc. We will be sharing ideas on how we can connect with these folks and keep them at the “campfire” for your site so that next year is ready to go in terms of your most precious asset: people! Please plan to join us. If you have a topic suggestion for a future call, please contact Brian Frick or Joel Winchip.
COVID-19 Coronavirus: Information for Our PCCCA Members - In light of the Coronavirus, the PCCCA Board feels that a strong policy statement communicated to your constituency is a great way to get ahead of the current wave of uncertainty. If a camp or conference center can create and follow a plan of action for preventing the spread of this infectious virus, they could create an environment that makes our sites one of the safest places for children and youth this summer. In order to help you, we have put together a special page of resources and program suggestions at www.pccca.net/coronavirus. Please check it out and submit suggestions as we continue to update this website. Thank you.
The New Virtual Camp Portal for Our PCCCA Member Sites - Are you seeking new ways to offer programming this summer? Virtual camp programming is being discussed in many circles. There is a lot of talk out there about the programming that camps could provide this summer, but not much discussion regarding how these programs would be delivered. PCCCA is happy to be partnering with the Office of Christian Formation of the Presbyterian Mission Agency and the web developer, Worship Times, to offer our member sites a platform for virtual camp. 36 Member Discounts! - We now have 36 member discounts! As a part of the benefits you receive through membership, PCCCA offers these special discounts on different products and services related to camps and conference centers. Utilizing two or more of these company discounts could save you more money than you pay in membership dues. You can check out the list by going to the PCCCA website. If you are a current PCCCA member, we hope you will login to the Resources page on the PCCCA website and utilize these discounts for your ministry. If you are not yet a member, you can join or renew at www.pccca.net/membership.
Have You Updated Your Website Listings? - PCCCA has websites that help potential retreat groups, summer staff, and summer campers find your ministry. While all of our camps appear on the websites, PCCCA members receive priority listings which include pictures and appear at the top of search results. Have you made updates to your listings? If you haven’t already done so, please go to the links below to access your login for each website. Join or Renew Your PCCCA Membership - For most of our camps and conference centers, their PCCCA membership expired on January 1. Now would be a great time to join or renew your PCCCA membership. You have the option of joining for one year or saving some money by paying for two years. Please keep in mind that PCCCA membership now lasts one (or two) years beyond your renewal date and does not follow the calendar year. If you are a smaller camp, keep in mind that there is a new discounted rate for membership. You can join using a check or credit card by going to www.pccca.net/membership.
